21-Year-Old MMA Star Dies Unexpectedly After ‘Intense Exercise’

As an individual gets older, their life does get shorter but it still hurts whenever we lose them in death. It is even more shocking, however, when it is someone young and healthy who dies.

Jake Sendler, a well-known MMA star and a fantastic athlete has passed away. His untimely death occurred at the age of 21 after a fight in Melbourne on March 3.

Jake’s mother, Sharone spoke about her son and the spirit that he showed. She is hoping that his story is going to help other athletes by providing a warning.

After the fight that Jake was involved in, he had to be rushed to the hospital. They put him into an induced coma, but he passed away.

His mother said: “Jake was an absolute warrior, such a good man. He would never want this to happen to anyone. Our message is to listen to your bodies, but keep being great and follow your dreams.”

Many people went online to describe him and offer condolences to the family. They talk about him as being a fighter in the MMA ring but also as being a true warrior in life.

As an athlete, you would have a difficult time finding somebody who was as dedicated as Jake. Many also spoke about his generous heart and boundless energy, saying that he was a good friend.

Jake’s condition is rare but serious, and it is called rhabdomyolysis. It happens when there is an extreme muscle breakdown, causing fibers to be released as toxins into the bloodstream and could eventually lead to kidney failure.

Jake was in the hospital for some time and went through a number of surgeries, but he would eventually succumb to the illness he was fighting against. He was trying his hardest to lose weight in the days leading up to his match, which may have contributed to the problem.

A source who spoke about the weight loss said: “He told people he trained with on the Friday before the fight, approximately 48 hours before stepping into the ring, that he still had five to six kilos to drop.”

It shocking, but he was trying to lose 7% of his body weight in only two days. His mother said that he was having symptoms in the days before the final fight, including dark-colored urine and muscle pain. He dismissed them as being part of his intense training.

His mother said: “Jake, because he works so hard, he put those things down to him training so much. He went into that ring and gave everything like he was already suffering.’s

“So we know now that his body had already given in and his kidneys were already at 40 percent. And he fought the three rounds.”

There was also a message on the GoFundMe, which said: “While preparing for an upcoming fight, Jake unknowingly pushed through worsening symptoms.

“He continued training, working, and coaching, unaware that his body was shutting down. Astonishingly, even as his organs were failing, Jake stepped into the ring one final time and fought courageously, demonstrating incredible determination and strength.”

The doctors said this is one of the most severe cases of rhabdomyolysis they had ever seen.

May he rest in peace.
