Filming intimate scenes must be embarrassing at the best of times, let alone when something goes wrong, as poor Rosamund Pike found out.
The star was appearing in a James Bond film alongside Pierce Brosnan, and as anyone knows, Bond has a way with the ladies.
The ‘clinch’ between the two soon went south though, with Rosamund recalling being left ‘mortified’ over what she saw.
It took place while onset for Die Another Day, and to make matters worse it was her first film.
Pierce, who is currently starring in another spy thriller called Black Bag, was back as Bond for the fourth time.

Gone Girl star Pike recalled the embarrassing antics when she appeared on an episode of David Tennant Does A Podcast With…
She looked back on ‘the time when we were doing the love scene’ and said she ‘discovered things like nipple covers, and all the taping’.
New to the world of filming, Pike was getting to grips with the practical side of things, and in the memorable moment she realised she was getting more than she bargained for thanks to the accessories.
She said that after filming one ‘clinch’ with her James Bond co-star, she ‘looked at this body tape and the nipple covers’ only to discover they were now ‘covered in hair’ – sexy.
“I think, ‘Oh my God, I’m waxing Pierce’s chest,’” Pike said in a panicked way.
“I was so mortified. I thought, ‘Oh my God, he’s so brave, and I’m pulling off his chest hair with every embrace,” she recalled of the less-than-perfect moment onset.
It wasn’t long though before Pike fortunately realised her mistake, and said that after ‘a couple of takes’ she worked out that ‘it was not him’ but ‘the fake fur of the rugs’ on the bed instead, whoops.
“I literally thought I was waxing the poor man’s chest!” she laughed.

The scene was a memorable one, featuring Bond and Pike’s character sharing a moment in a giant swan shaped bed in a frozen palace.
All of this came after Pike revealed she was asked to strip while auditioning to get the role in Die Another Day, but she refused.
She said producers admired her refusal to do so, and eventually gave her the role of Miranda Frost.
“My first audition was for a Bond film and I remember them saying I was to drop my dress and appear in my underwear,” she said during an interview with Amazon’s Audible Sessions.
She recalled: “On the day, I don’t know how I got the resolve and strength of mind, but I just thought ‘actually sod that, if they’re gonna see me in my underwear, they better give me the job’.
“So, I thought, ‘There’s no way I’m going to take off a dress in the audition for this tape to be sent around Los Angeles and to be judged on that.’”
She was just 21-years-old at the time too, and said she was asked to appear in an evening dress.

Not quite understanding the James Bond aesthetic, she remembers turning up to the audition wearing her grandma’s silk gown.
The costumer designer for Die Another Day was fortunately kind but soon corrected the future star about the kind of thing they were expecting.
Pike says the designer gently pointed out: “That’s a very beautiful dress, but in Bond films we wear things a little more like this’, and she held up three pieces of string,”
The mortification continued for the star, with Pike adding: “I realised I was in a completely different world and way out of my depth. So, I put on this shimmering sheath, or whatever the order of the day was, but I didn’t drop it.”
It was quite the first role for the Emmy winner, who described it as ‘a magic carpet of an experience’ which also saw her starring opposite Dame Judi Dench, Halle Berry and even Madonna during her cameo.
